One of the largest barriers standing between a vulnerable child and a permanent family is the high cost of adoption - which often ranges between $25,000 and $35,000. Gift of Adoption is a national non-profit that raises funds to provide grants to complete the adoptions of children in vulnerable circumstances – giving them a permanent family and the chance to thrive. These grants help adoptive parents cover the final costs associated with making their child a permanent member of their family.

As of December 31 2022, Gift of Adoption Michigan has awarded $441,500 in adoption assistance grants across Michigan to complete the adoptions of 151 children. 100 percent of proceeds raised through the Stepping Up Stair Climb will go to the Gift of Adoption Michigan Chapter.
